Union Foot Officers Sword

This M1850 Foot Officer’s Sword was issued to all officers in the rank of Major and below, serving in the Union Army during the Civil War. This design would have been the one most frequently found on a Civil War battlefield. The sword had a 33 3/4″ tempered carbon steel blade with US ornamental etching. The handle is wrapped with genuine leather and the hand guard is solid brass. A matching metal scabbard houses the blade. This is a Civil War collector’s dream!
